La Quinta, No relation Pt. 1

For my birthday I always want to go to some place warm to celebrate. Being born in winter has its perks, you know the comfy clothes, everything is spiced to make you feel warm, but those pale in comparison to warm, toes out type of weather. So for my birthday and my first trip as The Jet-Lagged Housewife, I wanted to visit La Quinta, Ca. You may remember this trip from Season 11 Episodes 10-13 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. For a few days, the cast gathered at Kyle’s home, except Crystal and Garcelle (seemed like it was for the better, am I right?). Anywho, Crystal and Garcelle stayed at the La Quinta Resort & Club (no relation to the other La Quinta) and I immediately knew I had to stay in one of their casitas. This first entry will have plenty of detail, but if you want to know about all of the eating and activities, head to my shop to purchase and download my full itinerary.

We started our trip with an early flight to Phoenix and then Palm Springs. Once we arrived in Palm Springs you can’t help but notice the scenery. These mountain views are gorgeous! After a quick Uber ride, we made it to the resort and our casita was ready and we settled in. Because I requested the mountainview, we stayed in one of the original casitas that dates back to 1926. These casitas are not like the modern, swanky hotels you might be used to. These casitas, like this property, is rustic, charming, and quaint. The resort has 3 restaurants on-site, a spa, gym, you name it! You never have to leave if you don’t want to. The staff was super friendly and accommodating as well.

When the cast originally filmed things were very much still shut down so we didn’t see them dine in any restaurants. I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to explore more shopping and dining now that things have reopened. For lunch, we ate on the property and my husband and I shared an egg pappardelle pasta with a butter sage sauce. So yummy! After, we took a nice stroll to Old Town La Quinta. Talk about personality. My sweet tooth wouldn’t let me leave without trying some yummy nitro-infused ice cream. Who said you can’t have dessert before dinner? To end the night we dined at a beautiful spot that’s nestled in the cliffside - La Quinta Cliffhouse. Once you look at the menu and a few of their photos, you’ll definitely want to give it a try.
