La Quinta, No Relation Pt. 2

Did I tell you this place also had a golf course? That wasn’t a selling point for me, but definitely for my husband. He had an early tee time on the Mountain Course of this PGA West greenery so instead of joining him I slept in a little bit, cleared my emails, and did some journaling. It was so nice to be outside in the morning desert air. The grounds were quiet, with nothing but the faint hum of a leaf blower in the distance. After my husband was done golfing, we decided to take another stroll to Old Town La Quinta for lunch at a cute Mexican restaurant that has margarita flights (highly recommend the cucumber!). The food and atmosphere reminded me of a small town on a Sunday afternoon, very few cars were out but there were definitely folks around if you’re into people-watching.

We spent a little more time in Old Town La Quinta and visited one of their beautiful galleries. The Meyave Stone & Sculpture had so many unique and handmade items, mostly stone sculptures from Zimbabwe, many that I wanted to fill my home with. The shopkeeper was so kind and was able to give us the story behind almost every piece, the type of stone used, and some other projects in the works. We probably could have stayed there for at least two hours looking and talking.

We needed to run a few errands before we got dressed for dinner, so we took an uber to a grocery store that was close by and headed back to the resort to get all dolled up. We had to cancel our first reservation because their patio was closed and we’re not ready to dine indoors yet. So, we found this really cute French Bistro in the same area that had a reservation for us. La Brasserie Bistro & Bar did not disappoint! Deviled eggs with caviar *chef’s kiss*. They had a great wine selection and some pretty tasty cocktails too. My drink of choice is the French 75, mixed with gin, champagne, lemon, and a bit of sugar. I had the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection and complemented with a tasty ratatouille. We grabbed a bottle of wine on our way out and headed back to our casita for the night.

Don’t forget, if you’re looking to take a similar trip, head over to my blog to purchase your itinerary. It will take all of the guesswork out what to do, where to eat, etc. You’re worth it!
